responsibilities include all technical aspects of the company
strategy; overall authority for the network infrastructure; highest
level network architecture and design; capacity planning; equipment
selection and technical appraisal of new business opportunities. As
the primary driver of network expansion, a massive increase in
capacity and geographical scope was engineered, to produce a
multi-gigabit international network with tens of thousands of DSL,
leased line, IP transit and co-location customers.
Additionally, the role involves working closely with other members of senior
management; liaising on technical matters with various teams within
the company; performing candidate selection and technical
interviewing for roles within the Engineering team; dealing with
providers of high-end network equipment and specifying key
communications links.
